Kilvington offers a limited number of scholarships to students who demonstrate exceptional performance in key areas such as academic excellence, music, sport and character.

Applications for our Academic, General, and Music scholarship programs will open in November 2025, with the next scholarship exam to be held on Saturday, 21 February 2026 for entry into the school in 2027.

Academic Excellence Scholarships

Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic examination and an interview. If you have applied for an Academic Excellence Scholarship, there are no additional requirements for applicants.

General Excellence Scholarships

General Excellence scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic examination, an interview and evidence of the student’s active participation in a range of activities outside school.

If you have applied for a General Excellence Scholarship, a portfolio is required for submission. It can include school reports, NAPLAN results, and details such as levels of achievement in any activities your child is involved in outside of school.

Portfolios can be submitted as a hard copy or electronically no later than Monday, 9 February 2026. You can either email your portfolio to the Director of Admissions, Liz Chegwin, at admissions@kilvington.vic.edu.au, or deliver it to Main Reception, Gate 1, Leila Rd.

Music Scholarships

Music scholarships are awarded on the basis of an independent academic examination, an interview and an audition. We require a minimum of AMEB Grade 4 level for Year 5, AMEB Grade 5 level for Year 7 and AMEB Grade 6 level for Year 9 entry. Recipients are required to participate in choir as well as a minimum of two ensembles through until Year 12.

Scholarship Conditions

Successful applicants are required to fully participate in school life through to the end of Year 12. Please be aware that if a scholarship student chooses to leave the School before the completion of Year 12, the value of the scholarships must be repaid in full.

If a scholarship offer is made, acceptance and fees payable are required within two business days.

Academic Success

2024 saw 9% of our class in the top 1%, and 13% in the top 2% of the State, achieving an ATAR of 99+ and 98+ respectively.
